In the fall of 2009, I first met Travis Chrystie. He had claimed some outlandish lifts in an email to me, so I invited him to a group training session. Needless to say, his lifts were much lower than he initially claimed. In the deadlift, 500lbs did not budge. Reluctantly, I decided to train him even though I thought he was full of it. I WAS TOTALLY WRONG. By the next fall, Travis had officially pulled his first 600lbs deadlift. Recently, he pulled his first 700lbs deadlift in a meet RAW. He is one of the most focused, committed and driven athletes I have ever seen. At only 20 years old, most kids lack the discipline. He has only scratched the surface of his potential and will continue to get better. Watch out for this broad-backed strength soldier to kick it up to the big leagues at the MHP Clash of the Titans on March 31st.
