Congratulations to Ben Ng!

Ben came to me after working with a number of coaches and trying virtually every workout system under the sun. He had not been able to exceed his bench press PR of 252.5 lbs for the last five years. Twelve weeks ago Ben tested his bench at 242.5, Ben was convinced because of his genetics he could never increase his bench press. This is my favorite kind of client to work with because it makes me grow as a coach - I never see a client’s ability as a blessing or a curse but as a challenge. Ben took a leap of faith and trusted me 100%. Ben worked his tail off! He did NOT miss one workout. In fact Ben moved from Hong Kong to Singapore in the process. How many people miss workouts because of easily preventable reasons? Ben moved across an international border and did not miss. Remember his example next time you want to skip a training session. This is commitment! What was the payoff for all Ben’s hard work? He benched 265! Great job, Ben, I am honored to work with. To your continued success.

Unfortunately, many times when people think of high school sophomore offensive linemen they think of 48 inch waist lines, not 48 inch box jumps. Arlington Lamar High School sophomore offensive linemen Gunnar Wilbert broke the stereo type with this 48 inch box jump. Look at the explosive power Gunnar displays. Great job Gunnar!

Jeremy Kloter Success Story

I wanted to congratulate one of my clients, Jeremy Kloter, for his amazing progress and work ethic over the last twelve weeks. Jeremy is in the Marine Corps and stationed in Japan, but during the program, he was called away from Japan for a few weeks then returned back to Japan. Regardless of where Jeremy was, he figured out a way to get the workouts done. Sometimes I would have to rearrange deadlift weights because of bars with no knurling, no access to chalk, and extreme weather conditions. Needless to say, many times he had less than desirable food availability, but Jeremy always made the best food choices he could - making lemonade out of lemons so to speak. As a result, Jeremy dropped from 211 lbs. to 204 lbs., significantly decreasing his body fat. Moreover, Jeremy increased his strength in 12 weeks going from 290 for 1 rep in the bench press to 300 x 3 reps, 385 x 1 rep in the squat to 420 x 2 reps, and in the deadlift he went from 445 x 1 to 475 x 2 reps. Excellent strength gains but more impressive was the fact he dropped fat while in multiple countries with sub par conditions. Where there’s a will there’s a way! Jeremy is mentally tough, committed to his goals, and is an honor to train. Jeremy elected not to take 1 rep maxes, and we have begun a mass building phase. Checkout Jeremy’s before and after pics. Remember, sound strength training (with no physique oriented goals) and wise food choices made Jeremy drop fat and gain strength simultaneously. Oorah, Marine!
